It’s been on the cards for a while, but while industry rumours flew around, Stella McCartney kept shtum about the possibility of launching a menswear collection. Until now that is.
Yes, she’s finally confirmed that later this year she will be making the much awaited move into menswear. She made the announcement in Florence at Pitti Uomo, one of the most prestigious menswear trade shows in the world.
The first collection will be “seasonless” and will be unveiled at an exclusive event in London this Novemeber, alongside her pre-Autumn/Winter 2017 womenswear collection. She’s taking a “See now, buy now” approach and will be launching her collection for purchase immediately after the show, which is expected to arrive in stores in December.
A statement from the fashion house revealed that it will consist of:
“fur-free and leather-free apparel and accessories”and “will take a modern approach to menswear, encouraging seasonless wardrobing, while adhering to the brand’s responsible and sustainable ethics”.
