Renowned for their innovative use of technology, experimental techniques and high tech materials, Stone Island are never a brand to settle with ordinary. For Spring/Summer ’17, they have created a new capsule collection of hand corroded designs, using corrosion paste to create unique fades and staining on each item which can never be replicated, making them a true one off design.

The ‘hand corrosion’ process involves dyeing white garments with special corrodible colourants, then fading by hand by applying corrosive paste to the surface of the item, steaming it and then intensely washing with the addition of an anti-drop agent. The brand’s signature badge is also put through the intense process, giving it the same corroded marks and distressed finish. Any residual dye remaining on the surface of the garment adds highlights to the design, creating the distinctive finished product.

Among the collection is this exquisite garment dyed field jacket. Crafted from a military derived cotton, the jacket is corroded revealing pale pink and black tones and patterns. Securing with a zip fastening, the unique design features a drawstring adjustable hood and six large pockets located at the front and back of the garment. The iconic felt Stone Island badge can be found buttoned onto the left sleeve, adding a signature finish to the garment.
