New to Zee & Co: Fred Perry x Miles Kane
Iconic clothing label Fred Perry has long been a favourite with musicians, bands and artists alike, but the latest collaboration collection has been created with solo artist Miles Kane, former frontman of The Rascals, co-frontman of The Last Shadow Puppets.
Miles Kane has lived in Los Angeles for the last few years and mixes the range with modern Americana with the classic British style that Fred Perry is so well known for. A capsule collection, the collaboration comes in a monochrome colour palette accented with ice blues, gold trims and deep maroons, channelling some vintage vibes. Filled with subtle differences and tweaks from the standard Fred Perry collection, you’ll notice different textures, new detailing, oversized collars and some more tailored silhouettes than usual.
Miles originally set out to design a shoe, but he and the team at Fred Perry found themselves too inspired to stop there and instead started work on a full collaboration. It’s hoped that this new collection will help introduce Fred Perry to a new market. Rob Gaitt, Brand Director, said “The attraction for any brand working with someone like Miles is that we will tap into his group of followers. For some of these fans, it might be the first Fred Perry they buy!”.
Previous collections designed by collaborators have become staples and include famous names such as Raf Simons and Nigel Cabourn. Fred Perry now has annual turnover of over £113million and fans of the brand include Liam Gallagher, Paul Weller and Damon Albarn. Its look is synonymous with effortless yet slick British style, particularly for those following the mod culture of the 1906s.
Zee & Co are amongst the first retailers to stock the Fred Perry x Miles Kane collection, and stock is limited amongst shops (both online and offline). Six pieces will be available to start and will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
The classic single tipped polo shirt is in navy, and a raglan knitted version of the polo in navy and ecru. A two-colour knit button neck shirt and t-shirt will also be available. All display classic Fred Perry shapes but with what Miles Kane describes as a “1970s Italian feel, as seen in Goodfellas”. Draped over a white tee, jeans and crisp white Fred Perry pumps, you have a ready-to-go outfit that works for dress up or dress down occasions.
