80s punk glam was the predominant theme in DSquared’s Women’s Spring Summer 2017 show in Milan earlier this week, with the high energy collection boldly combining colourful retro looks with punk fabrics and quirky details.
Defining the collection, is a slinky silhouette, made up of vibrant mini skirts and dresses that are lush in colour and texture. Puffed shoulders on military style jackets and ultra detailed embroidered bombers, add structure to the striking looks.
Key designs include transparent bodices appliquéd with black or gold bouillon, animal print bodysuits, oversized acid washed denim and all over sequin embellished jeans. Completing the collection are ornate motifs hammered into enamel laden metal accessories, decorative hardware on satin pointed toe sling-backs, open toe high boots crisscrossed with velvet ribbons and diverse sized DD bags.
