Hot from designing Canada’s Olympic opening ceremony outfits, DSquared2 have landed themselves another top sporting job, as the official fashion partner for Manchester City Football Club.

The multi-year partnership with the club will see Dsquared2, known for their tailoring and innovative cool denim, dress City’s players in their exclusive pre-match uniforms when they travel for Champions League games.

The team previewed some of their new uniforms for the first time this week, as they traveled to Barcelona to play against FC Barcelona in the Champions League match on Wednesday night, however it is thought that they will be releasing the rest of the official uniform from mid-November onwards.

Comprising of DSquared2’s signature jeans and a sporty varsity style bomber jacket, layered over a crisp white shirt and grey crew neck jumper, the uniform was inspired by the Club’s rich heritage, mixing Italian and English tailoring codes with modern touches. A black tie embroidered with the team’s crest, contemporary white trainers and a sleek leather travel bag completed the polished look.

Speaking of the new partnership, Dan and Dean Caten, founders and designers of Dsquared2 said:

“We are honoured to be dressing the Manchester City team, we have designed a unique suit for the players and the staff, modern fit and elegant fabrics. Mr Guardiola and his team represent and embody Dsquared2 style and tailoring on sports.”
