As the newly renovated Bond Street Emporio Armani store opens its doors again this week, Giorgio Armani has announced that he’s come to the decision to showcase the SS18 womenswear collection in London this September.

Traditionally, both Giorgio Armani and Emporio Armani spring/summer collections go on show in Milan, however this year he has decided to switch things up, following lead from other designers who have changed the way they exhibit their collections in the last couple of years.

Talking of his decision to move the show to London in a recent statement, Georgio Armani said:

“London – dynamic, energetic and cosmopolitan – represents global culture, so it’s the perfect setting for my Emporio Armani collection. After my One Night Only event in 2006, I’m thrilled to be returning to London to unveil the new concept at the Bond Street store, bearing witness to the brand’s strong bond with the British people.”

The show itself will happen on September 17th during London Fashion Week and will celebrate the revamp of the Bond Street. The Italian fashion designer came to a similar decision last year, having moved the show to Paris to coincide with the redesign of his store in the French Capital.
