Founded in 1874 Lyle and Scott were originally a golf clothes label making golf knitwear, they became well known in the golf clothing industry and even collaborated with Christian Dior on some cashmere knitwear. They had their big break in 1968 when they attended their first ever open championship; this of course projected the brand onto the main world stage. The golden eagle logo was established in the 1960’s and has since gone on to become one of the most iconic logos in menswear.
Lyle and Scott continued with their golfing routes as well as the fashion label and clothed and sponsored several golfers including British golfing sensation Lee Westwood. Although they are now less involved with the world of golf they have not abandoned their roots completely, the sport still very heavily influences their clothing.
